When Vick and Chris booked me for their wedding back in August last year, I knew their wedding was just going to be one of those lovely relaxed affairs and I was really looking forward to it.
The night before I checked the forecast....oopsie! Not looking too good, so I prayed to the sun gods and yet the sun god actually failed me for once. Now a bit of rain we can handle, but rain and wind makes outdoor photos just a tiny bit difficult. Hey I don't mind getting wet, but I am not sure anyone else was going to appreciate me dragging them out into THAT!!!
Despite the weather, I can only say what a gorgeous wedding day they had with wonderful friends and family. They also had a particularly lovely priest called Father Barry. It was his first wedding at St Mary's in Bolton and a stunning building too. In some ways I am happy it rained as we got to shoot the groups in his lovely church.
So without further ado lets have a little look as their day unfolds.
I am so pleased Vicki decided she wanted some pre-ceremony shots. This is the opportunity for me to capture all those details in a relaxed way and try to get a little creative to. I love the I do shoes!!
How gorgeous do all these ladies look. I adore the colour scheme and also loving the new styles of MOB dresses I have been seeing this year. Far less stuffy and really suited to the modern mum And so to the church, Chris waiting nervously with his brother as Vicki is just preparing for her grand entrance with a very proud dad!!
Father Barry let me stalk around quietly so I was able to get lots of angles and hide out behind the flower arrangement. Always a favourite spot lol
Congratulations sealed with a kiss!! How cool are my bridesmaids and grooms meant - OK they weren't mine, but by this point I have adopted everyone for the day. I have wanted to capture these shots for ages and the rain along with father Barry's help made it possible And then on to The Willows Functions Suit where the staff were just brilliant and made sure the buffet reception went without a hitch. They were fabulous from start to finish. We spent quite a bit of time getting shots around the fab "I DO" letters which were such a blessing with the way the weather was. Time for a little pro modelling work from the guys and gals in front of the I do light up letters. Unhand that man
And then it was time for CAKE!! I really enjoy getting anyone without a camera behind the bride and groom so they are in the photo and then papping the paparazzi as they pap the bride and groom - If you see what I mean
This is where I head off for a slap up meal, but I have seen the video of the boys dancing for their sister later on - good effort lads!!! I almost wish I had stayed to see that in the flesh...almost ;)
And finally to the cast that helped create their special day...
